📍 Tour Map & Highlights
Your journey begins with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in the Pamukkale/Karahayıt region. Accompanied by your professional guide, you will set out to explore the remarkable cultural and natural treasures surrounding Pamukkale.
The tour starts with a visit to Pamukkale and the ancient city of Hierapolis, where you will discover one of Türkiye’s most iconic UNESCO-listed destinations. As you explore the fascinating archaeological remains and the famous white travertine terraces, your guide will share the rich history and significance of this extraordinary site.
Following lunch, the tour continues to Kaklik Cave, a unique natural attraction renowned for its impressive mineral formations and underground thermal waters.
Your next destination is the spectacular Salda Lake, celebrated for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and striking white shoreline. The lake is internationally recognised for its geological characteristics, which closely resemble the surface of Mars, making it one of only two places on Earth with these remarkable features. Surrounded by untouched natural beauty, Salda Lake also meets the criteria of an Important Plant Area, Important Nature Area, and Important Bird Area.
The brilliant blue colour of the lake is created by white bacterial-origin rocks known as stromatolites, ancient geological formations that continue to develop today. The lake's mineral-rich water and its distinctive white clay-like sands are also believed to be beneficial for the skin. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to admire the unique landscape and observe the small natural formations scattered along the shoreline while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, especially as the day approaches sunset.
The tour then proceeds to the ancient city of Laodicea, located approximately 10 kilometres from Pamukkale. Founded by the Seleucid King Antiochus II and named in honour of his wife, Laodicea flourished as an important centre during both the Roman and Early Christian periods. Guided by your expert tour leader, you will explore the impressive archaeological remains, including ancient temples, fountains, a theatre, a stadium, and a gymnasium, while learning about the city's rich historical heritage.
At the end of this memorable day exploring history and nature, you will depart the area at approximately 18:00–19:00 and return comfortably to your hotel.
